Under the guidance of head coach Matthew Compos, Balboa Bay 16 Blue applied a suffocating defense to dismantle opponents, establishing themselves as early frontrunners in the chase for the 2025-26 SoCal Cup title.
They wasted no time in their debut match, convincingly sweeping Westside VBC 16 Green (25-9, 25-14). The momentum only built from there. Midway through the weekend, they faced A4 Volley Boys 16-Torrey and maintained their rhythm with a win (25-16, 25-12). Against A4, Balboa Bay's middle blockers shone, stuffing attempts at the net and creating opportunities for their pin hitters to swing freely.
